No, it’s not Rick Astley sing-a-along time again.
It’s Lent, It’s the time of the year when we catholics give up something in preparation for Easter – if you make it by Easter.
But what do we give up? I’ve known people who gave up up cakes and chocolates. Others breakfast and lunch altogether. While others stopped watching foolball or eastenders (never thought you’d see them in one sentence, huh?).
Have I got something to give up?

During the Christmas season in the Philippines (which officially begins on the 16th of December) we usually sing the old song ‘Let there be peace on earth’. It doesn’t mention ‘christmas’ in the lyrics nor, I don’t think, it was intended to be a Christmas song (I might be wrong, Wikipedia it). The melody sounds very christmasy though, like ‘Silent Night’ – holy, peaceful, calm… just like Christmas.
