2010 Celebrity Golf Challenge and Dinner

This Charity Event is in support of the Youth MinistryTeam (YMT), a service of the Diocese of Hexham and Newcastle,
which offers opportunities for young people from across the North East. YMT are currently developing a Youth Village,
within the Derwent Valley. During the last year, the residential phase of the project was completed providing accommodation for local schools and community groups in four attractive chalets.  Last year’s Golf Day made a significant contribution to the project,
which is investing in the young people of our region. The Youth Village is now in need of funding for its continued development.
Celebrity guests due to attend include ITV’s cheeky duo Ant and Dec, Geordie acting legend Tim Healy and Loose Women’s Denise Welch, Blue Peter presenter Matt Baker, Coronation Street’s Sam Aston (Chesney Battersby-Brown) and
Lucien Laviscount (Ben Richardson ), football legends John Beresford, Rob Lee, Steve Watson and Steve Stone
along with many other sports and TV personalities.
The day will commence at 10.00am for registration and refreshments. A team of 4, to include a celebrity,
will set off at 12.00 noon and undertake a very pleasant round of golf with some surprises on the way.
We hope that all golfers will finish at approx 4.30pm.
A star-studded evening with drinks reception, gala dinner, first class entertainment,
rare auctions, and raffles are planned at the hotel from 7.00pm.

Jornada Mundial de la Juventad 2011 (aka World Youth Day)

JMJ 2011WORLD YOUTH DAY 2011

11th – 21st August 2011 – Including ‘Days in the Diocese’ and celebrations in Madrid.

Pope Benedict has invited young people from all over the world to join him in Madrid, Spain for World Youth Day on August 2011. YMT is running a Diocesan pilgrimage for those 18-35 years of age. So if you will be this age by then, Get saving!!

More information about the pilgrimage will be given when it becomes available.
